SUGAR-FREE GOLD V/S SUGAR-FREE NATURA

No human on this planet can resist the temptation of eating desserts whether it is the syrupy sweets or western cakes, doughnuts, etc. It becomes impossible to have control over your taste buds looking at them. At the same time, such problems as obesity, diabetes, etc. force them to give up sweeteners in general. But with the introduction of such alternatives as SUGAR-FREE, people can eat their favorites without any compromise. Such artificial sweeteners have a huge demand in the market.

SUGAR-FREE GOLD V/S SUGAR-FREE NATURA

Such a brand was created by the “ZYDUS GROUP” in 1988. They introduced their brand name sugar-free, which itself sends a clear message of the product being free from sugar. Two of the products of sugar-free are very widely used in the market i.e. Sugar free Gold and Sugar-free Natura which are available in pallet, sachet, powder, or liquid form.

These two works the same for people i.e. to bring a healthier change in their lifestyle but yet are very different from each other whether in terms of its composition, usage, calories or dosage, etc. Both works like wonders, but people use it according to their preference.

Natura, introduced in 2004, is made out of the substance called Sucralose ( a no-calorie substance derived from the sugar itself) whereas Gold is an artificial sweetener containing a chemical called Aspartame (a protein derivative made out of the combination of 3 amino acids, phenylalanine, aspartic acid, and methanol). Natura is 600 times and Gold is 200 times sweeter than the actual sugar. It even varies in the calorie consumption where Natura plays like a master with ‘no-calorie’ and Gold contains ‘0.4 calories’ per pallet.

Not only this, but Natura being derived from a natural substance can be even used for cooking i.e. in cakes, sweets, etc. which needs to be baked or cooked whereas Gold is generally added to the dish just before consumption i.e. suitable for beverages, soft drinks, and a few sweets. Both are considered equally safe as per the study conducted in 2004 but the brand has specified the maximum intake by a person per day is 155 pills (Gold) and 58 pills (Natura).

There are certain drawbacks of using the Gold and not Sugar free Natura. Firstly, gold contains a chemical that is not recommended for consumption by pregnant ladies or children. It can be detrimental to their health, this is not the case with Natura, anyone can consume it without any side-effects. Gold also produces a certain aftertaste of aspartame which is not liked by some people but there is no such problem with Natura. If consumed in larger quantities, Gold can lead to headaches, anxiety, heart palpitations, weight gain, depression, and neurological disorders.

Gold is generally targeted for diabetic patients and Natura for weight or health-conscious individuals. Undoubtedly, they have side-effects but if taken in safe quantities i.e. 10-12 pills a day, it won’t be a hassle. As people are becoming more conscious, they need to debunk the myths and use them appropriately. No more worries, when you have sugar free. It’s a nutritious, safe, and perfect low-calorie sugar substitute, giving you the pleasant happiness and taste of sugar however with immaterial calories to stress over! Any place you consider sugar, think sugar free.
